Minister of State for NHSRC, Mrs Saira Afzal Tarar Inaugurating the pamphlet health education by cutting the ribbon at the Dow International Medical College OJHA Campus, DUHS, Karachi

 Islamabad February 28, 2015:  The Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar has said that |Dow University is achieving outstanding research and young enthusiastic researchers budding up and brining researches significant to our community level issues to upward trajectory. This is all what our country needs . More researches must come up addressing issues pertinent to our healthcare issues , so we may achieve our goals and improve the quality of the lives of our people.   The Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar addressing the 6th Annual Research day 2015 at Dow International University , Ojha Campus , Karachi today.   She further said that in the world of rapid change , an agile educated and adaptable mind , a pragmatic and cooperative temperament are increasingly the key to the effective education system. The government complies with the notion of education as a strong pillar of our faith Islam. There is no short cut to success but to educate our youth and future generation.   The Minister also said that different government policies are in place to promote education at both primary and higher levels of schools and universities respectively. Funding programmes through HEC has played a pivotal role in the attainment of  highest degrees Like PHD by our youth from international universities    and now we are ready to enjoy the fruits of hard work. Saira Afzal Tarar , further said that even though research activities of Dow university are quite extensive , very little is known to the wider community and policy makers .The fruits of such research could inform policy options available to Governments, the private sector and other segments of society. She also emphasized the role of women empowerment and emphasized to fully participate in the decision that effect their lives through leadership, training, coaching and provision of enabling tools for women to lead.   While  talking to media persons , She said that the polio campaigns are carried out successfully in Karachi . The main hurdle in the polio campaigns is accessibly and govt is keen to tackle all the issues. She also emphasized on the routine immunization of children.             Saira Afzal Tarar also distributed the shields to the researchers and inaugurated by cutting the ribbon and visited the medical education through pamphlets in the end.    Secretary National Health Services Mr. Ayub Shaikh and Vice Chancellor Dr Masood Hameed also addressed on the occasion.
