Conditional Cash Transfer (CCF)

 Minister of State, National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar and Minister of State / Chairperson, Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Ms. Marvi Memon, have jointly chaired a meeting on Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) to improve the maternal and child health status of Pakistan. The meeting was attended by representative from various research and donor organization including World Bank, World Food Program, UNICEF, USAID, GIZ, WHO and Population Councils. The meeting was also attended by Secretary Health, Director General (Health) and representative from National EPI program, Nutritional program, Prime Minister National Health Insurance Program and other departments. Madam Minister has emphasized on the importance of improving health status in Pakistan especially maternal and child health. She urges all partners to focus on improving access and availability of nutritional supplements and other health care services especially to cadre the requirement of women in reproductive age and children in growing age. She stressed to focus on the people living below poverty line in difficulty to reach districts of Pakistan. Ms. Marvi Memon stressed on the importance of developing a strong and healthy nation. She mentioned that this is the time to take drastic action to save the future of Pakistan by growing health, intelligent and economically productive nation. She also assured to provide all support from BISP to identify and support the poor families for this health care initiative in Pakistan. In the end Health Minister, Mrs. Saira Afzal Tarar, constituted a committee to devise a mechanism to involve provinces and other stake holders in the process.
